Random stuff

i feel like going tampines mall tmr

I haven't been to that mall for a really really long time.
I'm not sure why either.
I tend to avoid places for stupid reasons.

After my exams on Tues 1100hr

I will go to Orchard Apple Centre, collect my ipod skin
Buy a couple of books from Borders, and read them at the cafe
Walk around town, look for nice shoes
Collect my pay cheque
Update bank book

I need some good quality me-time.
It's been a really long time since i spent some quiet moment by myself.
The only me-time i get is when i go jogging alone. But hell, thats only 30 minutes

last paper!
For the strangest reason, i'm effing worried about this paper. It's open book. That's what scares me
I haven't had a single CA for this module, i have no idea what they gonna ask. And tonight's the first time i'm touching my notes.
i really don't know any shit about Ecology.
Who gives a damn about the trophic levels or stupid nutrient cycles.
And the best part, they've incorporated some shitass Geography in it.
Like the El Nino and El Nina effect. KaNINA lah. i hate physical Geog, i don't care about the stupid direction of the wind in the pacific ocean.

Grr. this module is exasperating.

I've got more things to worry about after the exams

Top priority is my daddy.
2 days after my last paper, i'm following him to the hospital for a surgery.
Something's wrong with his thyroid gland, there's a growth or something, which probably caused hyperthyroidism. He's been losing so much weight. Sighhhh.
I hope all goes well. =(
And when he's in the hospital, i'm taking over his job as the driver. I gotta drive brothers to school, mom to work. I hope i don't mess up. Boo.

I have to get a job and at the same time start thinking about post grad options. I don't know how it'll go. We'll see by the end of this year.

Anddddd i will join a gym membership! My mommy say can!
YES! kickasssssss

And there's Mother's Day Celebration next week. What should i do/buy/plan?
This is such a headache.
My mom's not really a flower person, nor a necklace person.
Should i:
a) make reservation at a nice restaurant
b) order a cake, have it delivered to her office
c) get her vouchers
d) ??

One Big Load Gone

I'm glad the time flew by fast today, for i've sat for my Pharmacology paper.
The biggest/worst nightmare.
I'm kissing my Pharmacology textbook good bye (though i've used it only once), along with all my notes.
It's really no joke doing this module. I remember studying in SMU once, and Shihui came up to me "are you reading english"?

Yes i am, but they don't look english

This is onlf half of the drug names in my syllabus. I did not cut and paste this from somewhere.
I've been eating/drinking/dreaming of all these darling drugs since Sunday.

I'm happy that Prostaglandins and Histamines came out for 2/3 essays. And i'm glad i didn't study receptors. I knew it won't come out. I'm pretty good at spotting questions! Really. I've been doing that since Yr 1. This is for ppl who really have no time to finish studying, and have no choice but to try their luck.

I'm glad i've managed to survive only on 1 panadol (aka paracetamol aka acetaminophen) for this exam. It used to be 1 box! I've increased my threshold for algesia (aka pain), often caused by PGE2 and inflammatory mediators. And i'm glad my hormonal cycle is on track. No more screwed up ovarian+uterine cycles.

It's dysmenorrhoea for now. Grr!

Anyway, i overheard someone saying on the bus that the Progress Package has been banked into our accounts. Money lai loh!!!!!!!!!!! $$$$$

Not Fair

I can't believe my buddy Anne is going Sydney to watch a Coldplay concert (with mr 27??)

This is so unfair
You stupid BITCHHHH

(kidding, you know i love you alot)

KNNNNNNN.
I'm so jealous

Firstly, she's going to Sydney (big time fun)
Opera House, Effing good seafood, Pancakes on the Rocks, Beaches, Cute guys, Cold Rock Ice cream, THE WEATHER (except when it was 42C the other time, pissed me off so badly).

Secondly, it's Coldplay.
They'll be coming to Sg in June i think. But for now, their live concert on dvd, which my dad got me shall suffice. =[

I still can't believe you are going to SYDNEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I love sydney. In fact, i love Australia (except boring Darwin)
i've never been to is Melbourne, where my two good friends are right now. Oh, and tasmania (yuck, who wants to go to that disgusting place) and canberra
I don't think Melb is any better, just like boring Darwin. I can't believe my parents paid good money to go to some rivers to see jumping crocodiles, and having tonnes of summer bush flies charging into my precious ears. And those farmstays. What were they thinking? Nothing beats the farmstay at NZ. AhKWO (must spell this way, becuz google is so potent) can attest to that.

Lets take a trip down memory lane and see what are the places i've visited

First ride on the airplane to Tokyo when i was 3
Perth
Goldcoast X3
Cairns X2
SydneyX2
Darwin
USA (LA, SF, LV) - Nim was there when i was there too
Bangkok X3
Malaysia X infinity
Korea
NZ
Indonesia
Phillipines
Cruises to no-where X infinity

I think thats about it...

Next, I wanna go to
Africa
HK
Brazil
Europe

I should start studying my pharmacology now, because i think i'm screwed.

BEST

have a physiology paper tmr

Guess what's the best thing..
Er..i don't exactly know the format of the paper tmr. =(
No one said anything about the format. How nice of the lecturers

I HEARD from my friend, she told me it was True/False

I heard from another person, he told me it was MCQ.

I also heard from another person that it's bothe True/False + MCQ

What's up with these ppl. They think permutation and combination is it?

There is a huge difference in studying for a true/false and MCQ paper.
But i don't think it's gonna be essay. If not i'm screwed.

Good luck to me.
I've been having fucking weird sleeping problems

Last night, i drank too much coffee, i had a racing heart beat (and i thought i was caffeine intolerant! Gold Roast Coffee is damn power!). Faster than an F1 Formula Car. I couldn't sleep till 8am. And i slept all the way to 1pm. Just in time for my daily dose of Oprah.

Back to Round 3 of my notes. ROUND 3!!
I is a fast worker.
Heh, well..not really. But physio's my best subject. And i enjoy it alot.

I will go for Round 5 by tonight.

Such an excellent day before the exams

Woke up at unearthly 645am this morning, headed to the disgusting NTU (allthe way at stupid tuas/boonlay) for my internship aptitude test.
Met a friend there.

Went Mt Faber for a while

Went bowling. 4 games. Sucked at alll 4

Katong Laksa

Parkway

Buffet supper at Quality Hotel. 7 bucks only. but not allthat fantastic.

Ohh..and the icing on the cake..
I bumped into Jon Jonsson/ Jonssen? Ah fuck whatever. The ultra cuteeeeeeeee model.
Ooh, upclose somemore! At the gas station.
He was buying a can of beer, and those cuttle fish snack?????

SOoooo cute.
Yum

I enjoyed today quite a bit.

A taste of Australia

FINALLY!!
The Red Rock Deli chips are now available at most NTUCs.
Stangely, not at the snacks section, but at the Pasta section
A 100g bag costs $3.60 (fucking expensive i know)
Anything for a good bag of chips.
I personally love the Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream one.
Damn Good.
Comes in many other flavours too.

I'm glad I don't have to go all the way to Candy Empire to get them now

This is so Australia!

Pre-Exam Trauma

At this rate i'm going, i'll probably be inviting myself to me a member of NKF.

What this means is that..

I'm drinking way too much coffee a day, without hydrating myself. Coffee= anti diuretic
I've eaten instant noodles more than 3 times this week. I'm that screwed.
It took me 3 days to finish my 1.5l of water, even despite going for my evening jogs.
And my urine..it just looks like it has a uber high content of urea. HOLY CRAP!

Welcome to my screwed up life.

On a better note,
I'm starting this whole stupid 5km run thing again.
5km runs seem pretty endless for me these days. It feels like i'm taking 2 hrs to complete. (actually only 40mins)
My stamina has dropped drastically. I can't run a proper 5km without having stupid cramps or muscle pull. Knn, i rem two days back, i had this damn bad muscle pull near my left thigh. I spent the last 200m limping back.

Alot of things happened for the past 2 days which made me so fucking pissed.

1. I had to bring my Grand dad to the hospital to collect his colonscopy report. Now, how many of you have ever remembered me talking about my grandfather.I'm not even that close to him. And why was i mad? Look, i have 3 fucking useless uncles, who wouldn't even bring him to the hospital, and its not like they have a proper 9-5 job. Some are even fucking jobless. Cb. So, as usual, my mom volunteered, some ppl want to be filial what. Oh, and guess what, she volunteered, then she asked me to go. CCB lah. Its like shitting, then asking me to wipe your backside. WTF.
I was pissed. Why can't she ask my brother to go (he's having his hols now can). Her reason: oh, because you know about polyps. SO????????????????? So what if i know about polyps? I;m only a life sci student, not a medical student. Ask me go for what, like i can operate on the colon.
Lan lan, no choice, go lah, after my conscious started eating into me when i got less angry.
I have soft spots for animals, babies and elderlys (some only becuz there are some who think they are old, damn big shot. Those, annoy me alot)

2. I'm going to complain about the state of my kitchen again. Its akin to the Ghobi Desert. (read: barren). Knn, why is that no body bothers to stock up on food at home. I'm fucking pissed. Honestly, give me the money, and i will do all of you a favour and go grocery shopping. I think my parents are out to starve all of us or something. They will buy everything except the things that are edible to us.

let's see whats in the cupboard
- Nestum (What? Fucking oat cereals?)
- Quacker Oats (WTF OATS AGAIN!)
- Wholemeal bread (nabei, i've complained about this 1 gazillion times)
- Tasteless/hopsital tasting biscuits.
- Digestives
- Ah..i also have millo powder. OH, but guess what, no condensed milk??
Because the mother said, the powder is already sweetened! Too sweet no good

WHY MUST HAVE OATS IN EVERYTHING???????????????????????????????????

I wish i was living in Ethiopia, then i would learn to cherish all these oat-filled food

I'm so mad i tell you when i see all these fucking disgusting food esp when im hungry.
They don't get it or something.
Firstly, if you wanna buy wholemeal bread, fine, no choice, i will eat.
but hello, eat with what...BUTTER? and i have a stupid low in sugar jam in the damn fridge.
FYI: i hate jam!
Where's my peanut butter, or the nutella?
Gone, and no one's replacing it.

Then, the instant noodles also gone, becuz thats the only edible thing thats left. Me and Dom always eating them. We never touch those wheat shit in the cupboard.

Give me the money and i will tell you what i'll buy

-Baked Beans
-Campbelle Soup
-Frozen Nuggets
-Frozen Pizza
-Indo Mee
-Korean Noodles
-Ice cream
-WHITE BREAD
-Nutella
-Cheese
-Ham
-Sardines
-Oreos
-Sausages
-Eggs (you heard me, i don't have eggs at home)

Anyone who has visited my place, will know how bad my kitchen is. I think even the Hurricane Katrina victims and Tsunami victims have more canned food than me.

If you would like to donate the above items, or donate to the Starving Siblings Funds, do not hesitate to email or drop me a msg.

This weekend, i make sure my parents lug back at least 5 plastic bags of grocerys!
If not, i will KB

I know im super kaobei today, its becuz im pmsing, and secondly, i'm sick of studying,i dont feelstressed at all, but i know i will by Sunday.

Happiness!!

Third Eye Blind - The Background

Everything is quiet
Since you're not around
And I live in the numbness now
In the background

I do the things we did before
I walk Haight Street to the store
And they say where's that crazy girl
You don't get drunk on red wine
And fight no more
I don't see you anymore
Since the hospital

The plans I make still have you in them
'Cause you come swimming into view
And I'm hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I carry you around
In the background

Words they come and memories all repeat
Lift your head while they change the hospital sheets
And I would never lie to you
No, I would never lie to you
No, I felt you long after we were through
When we were through

The plans I make still have you in them
'Cause you come swimming into view
And I'm hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I carry you around
In the background

'Cause I felt you long after we were through

When you come swimming into view
And I'm hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I'm way, I'm way
In the background
I'm in the background

Definition of Chop Suey

Just last week, JC and Nick were discussing what chop suey meant in jeev's car. JC said it means zhap cai (mix veggies)

He's right.

Pretty random i know, but i just happened to listen to Chop Suey by System of A Down what..
So, next time, if you wanna go America, tell them u want to eat Chop Suey.

chop su·ey Audio pronunciation of "chop suey" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (s)
n.
  1. A Chinese-American dish consisting of small pieces of meat or chicken cooked with bean sprouts and other vegetables and served with rice.
  2. Informal. A miscellany: “His coterie of execs were up to their pin stripes in a chop suey of deals” (TV Guide).

[Chinese (Cantonese) tsapsuì, miscellaneous bits, equivalent to Chinese (Mandarin) zá, mixed + Chinese (Mandarin) suì, to break up, pieces.]

chop suey

n : meat or fish stir-fried with vegetables (e.g., celery, onions, peppers or bean sprouts) seasoned with ginger and garlic and soy sauce; served with rice; created in the United States and frequently served in Chinese restaurants there

***

This is also very random.
Yesterday, i went to this secondary school for the Astar shit, and you know, my students are like City Harvest goers. Gees! I rem meeting them for the 2nd time, they asked what my religion was..Catholic i said, then they asked, if i wanna go their church. NO?????????????????????

Then secondly, they were talking about movies, and then i mentioned something like the Da Vinci Code coming in May.
And they exclaimed ," CANNOT WATCH!! It's Anti-Christ"
What the hell right!
Such an excellent book, you ask me not to watch the movie?

Even SOAD is a satanic band.
But its not like i'm worshipping them or anything. I just enjoy their music, just like how i enjoy Dan Brown's litary work. No one said you HAVEEE to believe in whatever that you read or listen to. If your faith is strong enough, all these little things won't sway your faith in God.

I still can't believe some christians are not allowed to read Harry Potter or attend Yoga. I say, you stick to your good old Roald Dahl. You poor kiddos.

tsk tsk

I told you this was random

On Crossroads in Life

In life, we're often faced with tough decisions. At that point of time, you wonder if you've made the right choice. A few years later, you look back, and you ponder on the same thought again.

There's only 1 life. Being the perfectionist, i want my life to be perfect. But we all know nothing's perfect. Life is definitely not a bed of roses. I'm often faced with the difficulty of making decisions, for i'm not the most decisive person on earth. It's because of the perfectionist in me, that makes making decisions a tough one. From the colour of shoes i want, to the apple products i wanna get, to the model of handphone i wanna get. All these, could take months for me to decide, because i don't wanna do something on impulse, only to regret after a while. (Like buying a stupid PDA. The biggest mistake EVER)

Somethings don't take long before we start to regret. (Eg: buying a top, only to realise 2 days later that it isn't very flattering on you) While others, take an extremely long time, before we see the light, only to realise what a stupid fool you've been all these while. (Eg: being that dillusioned love fool) Thus, the regret.

I've learnt so much in this life. I've learnt even more through all my vulnerable times, when i wasn't strong enough to take charge of my life. Now, i have indeed seen the light.

Alot of regrets in this life. I know we shouldn't ponder on them, it makes life less optimistic. But no harm done i suppose.

My Regrets In Life
  • Not going abroad to study
  • Studying in NUS
  • Not going to SMU (biomed sci doesn't seem to be my cup of tea anymore)
  • Falling in love in college (big time regret)
  • Not being a good partner
  • Not continuing with piano (big time also)
  • Begging my parents to let me quit piano
  • Messing up my own life because of 1 person
  • Choosing XXX over XXX (fuckinggg regret!)
  • Getting pissed drunk at Sky Garden, when Mike was there. Holy Shiiiit! The Unglam!
  • Not realising that there are really greener pastures (guys with car, gentlemen, guys who engange in intellectual conversations, guys who treat girls like princess, guys who send girls to their doorstep, guys who plan perfect dates, guys who restore the faith in love of those jaded girls) yada yada
  • Not being insistant about living in hall (i still get fucking pissed about this each time i think about it. Thanks alot Ma, for making my freshmen stint in NUS a shit one)
  • And for that, i hope you sponsor my Post-Grad education, for it'll definitely be more exciting than living in NUS hostels (supposedly Sheares, i was accepted, but you didn't allow! And you told me to pay the accomodation fees by myself! And forkout the money for a laptop myself)

Take That Nick!

For trying to be a Michael imposter!
Now we all know what you do when you're online.
WAHAHA

Hope your fingers dont dirty your new MacBook Pro

Say, am i nice?

me think me is mad

After splurging a good 320 bucks on my ipod, 40 on a top, probably more than 100 on food,
i bought another wallet today. Wahhhaha. This time, its a nice long leather wallet. Very executive looking. With tonnes of compartments to put my gold plastic cards. Hehehehe.
Speaking of which, my mom might wanna give me a supp platinum card. Oooh.

Retail therapy is the second best thing that makes me happy. What's top on the list..
For now, it has gotta tennis and running. I quite like tennis these days. It feels better playing it when you're frustrated, filled with anger all the way to the brim. I gotta play a game with my neigbour someday.

I feel so bad for forgetting Leslie's Birthday. I really feel terrible. He wished me like at 1am on my birthday, and i forgot his. Sorry Les! I feel so self-centered these days. It's like i forget about other ppl so easily. Maybe its because channeling all the attention and love to myself, makes me a happier person, albeit a selfish one too.

Sigh

huh? you mean i have exams in 2 weeks time?

OMFG.
I feel screwed. (not literally of course)
I just found out that i have a paper on the 25th.
And, i haven't even started studying.
Heck.

I'm already thinking about convocation day.

Let's talk about happier stuff

I got a new baby. My white iPod nano. So chiooo lor!
I bought a $41 top from m)phosis. ( yeah, im that mad)
I am going to cut my hair
I've been eating damn good food for the past few days
I've got Topshop vouchers, but i don't know what i wanna buy from there
I have Levi's & Esprit Discounts, but i also don't know what to get from there
I drove alone, and it was fun
I have to go down to NTU for an aptitude test, because i applied for the Maesrk study/internship thing. If i get in, Hello Denmark, Sweden, Germany. Goodbye Singapore.

I think i've acquired an expensive taste in food

Lets also talk about shitty stuff:
I've been bugged by an irritant, which pisses the hell outta me. And i never hesitate to show the hostile side of me. WEF: He's on my permanent Ignore List. No more unblocking. The moment i unblock, i get irritated. That yucky feeling
Mikey got wasted. Aww. (and will not be coming to Sg anytime soon. GAH)
I have not been studying
I didn't attend church
And some other shitty stuff, which probably isn't worth mention.

Some people to thank, and be grateful to..
  • Jeevs, for the kick ass router. 24mbps. Not bad alreadyyy leh. Last time when i was tapping network, only 1 Mbps. Can download Desperate Housewives loh!!
  • He-bitch, for the birthday treat. And for intro-ing me to his friend (which was not part of the bday present. HAHA)
  • Evan for the belt (which caused me major embarrassment, i could sue you for that. HAHA)
  • Sydney ppl, for the excellent post birthday celebrations
  • The govt, for making me 800 bucks richer
  • God? For giving me life. Who knows, you could just die in your sleep some day.
The end.
Im charging my baby now.
No one else touches it, except me.
And if you really really really wanna handle my baby, i will make you wear a pair of gloves
As Nick, the Mac Geek says, it is very susceptible to scratches.
U scratch my baby, i will scratch your face

End of story (or rubbish rantings rather)

Is there a "The One"?

I was talking to my flatmate about the topic on "The One" one week ago.
We were discussing about, how do you know the person is"the one", and is there the right one out there?

For someone like me who doesn't exactly believe in soulmates, my motion still stands. I don't think there's something as the right one out there.

Flatmate gave me some insights. In life, there's always greener pastures. Everyone wants to go for greener pastures. Its hard to find someone who can be contented with what they have. (that was me last time), but now, i've converted into a shepard, in search of greener pastures.

Greener Grass.
That was what i learnt from my last relationship. It was a lesson taught by the ex. Unfortunately, i was not his greener grass.

There's no right one. People have to accomodate, give and take, to make the relationship last. Commitment and compromise are just part of the recipe. Along with love, passion and chemistry, to reignite the dull and plummeting relationship. Of course, without the two essence, commitment and compromise, people naturally leave in search of a better partner.

They always say people always end up marrying the one they do not love most. But rather, their partners are the one who could provide the essence and the stability to keep the relationship..So the one you marry, may not necessarily be "the one".

Need i say more?

I should stop blogging about all these fucked up sappy shit.
I hate myself.

Let's back track.

  • I just got back from a game of tennis and dinner at ECP with Jeevan. i drove
  • I went jalan kayu for supper with Jeevs, Nick, JC and Germaine. Got home at 4am. Crazy car ride, with jeevs speeding (130km/h) when approaching a slope. My gawd. I screamed, but i bet Hobs screamed louder
  • I went to school, brought my laptop, wanted to do work, but ended up sleeping
  • I had dinner with parents over the weekends
  • I ran up 44 storeys in 7 mins. i think that's so lousy.
Uh...in short, i did almost every damn thing except studying.

Green Day - Give me Novacaine (i thought it was novocaine?)

Take away the sensation inside,
Bittersweet migraine in my head,
It's like a throbbing toothache,
Of the mind,
I can't take this feeling anymore

Drain the pressure from the swelling,
This sensations overwhelming,
Give me a long kiss goodnight,
And everything will be alright,
Tell me that I won't feel a thing

Give me novacaine

Out of body and out of mind,
Kiss the demons out of my dreams,
I get the funny feeling and that's alright,
Jimmy says it's better than here

(I'll never get high)

Drain the pressure from the swelling,
This sensations overwhelming,
Give me a long kiss goodnight,
And everything will be alright,
Tell me Jimmy, I won't feel a thing

Give me novacaine

FYI, novacaine or novocaine is a anesthetic drug, to numb pains (eg, during tooth extraction)
If only it could numb emotional pains.
Aka Procaine (the generic name). Novocaine is just the tradename.

Uma Thurman on the Oprah

I was watching the Oprah show guest starring Uma Thurman a while ago (i admit i'm a die-hard Oprah fan, pls grant me my wish, and bring to me to Chicago to catch her show at Harpo Studio).

Today's topic was on Marriage, Men and Relationships.

Uma was being interviewed by Oprah about her broken marriage with Ethan Hawk.
I could see so much sadness in Uma's eyes. I know as much as she wanna break down and cry, she attempted to control her emotions very well. Afterall, Oprah's show is viewed by millions of ppl, crying is a sign of weakness. And that is something you would never wanna potray to your ex. (or her ex husband, Ethan)

And then came a part when Oprah asked if she had moved on. The thing about dumpees is that, sometimes they don't exactly know whether or not they've moved on. It's like a mental state of confusion. Sometimes you think you have, sometimes you feel like you haven't even moved on a bit. And the part on "if only"s. Do you feel like you have many "if only.."s after a break up? I think i do. Call it a feeling of regrets, even though i know life's too short to regret. Too many "if only"s would hamper you from moving on, because the reason why you think of so many if onlys is because somehow or rather, you still haven't forgiven yourself, nor recouncile with yourself. You blame yourself for the failure, you hate yourself, and sometimes, you feel like giving yourself a big punch.

'If onlys' are not good. Again, to really move on, you gotta drop all these stupid thoughts like, "i should've..... , i shoudn't have..."blah blah. It's time to really find some inner peace with yourself, stop blaming yourself and learn to love yourself even more. Easier said that done. Who am i kidding, when i can't exactly accomplished the above. It seems so much easier to say, to think logically but when it comes to really doing what i think i should do, i find it a bit too hard.

I feel for Uma, yes i do. Every women out there always want to appear as strong after breakups, so do i. But honestly speaking, there's always a tinge of weakness in everyone of us. We cry, we become angry, we hate, we become an emotional wreck.- the problem with XX species. We always let our emotion get the better of us. We think with our hearts, while the men think with their dicks.

Anyway, i really don't know why i'm talking about all these. Maybe subconsciously (or so i was told) that i haven't completely gotten over everything that happened 10 months ago.

I wish i did.

Here's a funny email. Courtesy of my mom

Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan?

Operator : Yes, you can speak to me.

Caller: No, I want to speak to Annie Wan!

Operator: You are talking to someone! Who is this?

Caller: I'm Sam Wan. And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent.

Operator: I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But
what's this urgent matter about?

Caller: Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother Noel Wan
was involved in an accident. Noel Wan got injured and now Noel Wan is
being sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan is on his way to the
hospital.

Operator: Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the
hospital, then the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this
hilarious but I don't have time for this!

Caller: You are so rude! Who are you?

Operator: I'm Saw Lee.

Caller: Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name!!

Few things to resolve..

1. My fucked up grammar. And typos. I actually misquoted Charles Caleb Colton. That beautiful quote.. My sentence structure is fucked too. This year, i've managed to read only 1 book (5 ppl you meet in heaven). My second time reading that book in one sitting. I don't know why i chose that book over chick lits like Shoppaholic series. Maybe its because..i need to enrich my life, my life is a tad meaningless these days. I don't know. I would like to read the Purpose life drive, or issit Life purpose driven book. whatever. Lend me if you have it.

2. My tolerance level. I get so pissed at ppl really easily (except good friends & gfs- you guys don't piss me off for some reasons). I block ppl off on my msn as soon as they irritate me. It's that simple. So far..you would'nt wanna know how many ppl are on my Ignore List.

3. The rage and anger in me. I feel like an angry girl all the time. I don't know why. Just mad at alot of fucked up things, and how things turned out.

Thats all i have to say
Any stupid grammatical/typo errors? i can't be bothered to vet stupid blog entries.

i love POAL ppl.
Thanks Nut for that phonecall from Down-under. Kinda made that Sunday morning a little better. I love you too Moe. XLB when you are back!
I think i wanna do post-grad course overseas (nick, we could be roomies!!). I will speak to my parents about it, because every freaking person has a degree. Whats the big deal?

On Love

Edit *
This was what He-bitch said to me

"Friendship often ends in love, but love in friendship -never" Charles Caleb Colton

To He-bitch, this is for you:

"Love sought is good, but given unsought, is better. "
* William Shakespeare

To my dearest friend Evan, this article is for you:

Recently, while on holiday in Vancouver, I was discussing study opportunities with Melinda and Evan, a couple that I had just met. In the midst of our conversation, a question popped out "How does your boyfriend feel about you going abroad to study?" Unfazed, I replied that I had no boyfriend, to which one of them said "Are you sure?" Duh. It is my life right?

Inane as that question may be, I seem to encounter plenty of queries these days. It seems that the people around me have a bone of contention with regards to my single status. And it's starting to get downright annoying. At first, laughing it off was easy, but after one too many comments like "You don't have a boyfriend? But you are not ugly what." the laughing becomes forced and I seriously (and still am) considering relocating myself to some isolated village in the far reaches of Timbuktu.

My relatives are no exception. In fact, they started the entire fracas in the first place. After I turned 16 without any sign of boyfriend or male suitor, speculation began as to what was wrong. Eventually, they came to a general consensus that I was lesbian. Which I am not. Trust me, it would be so much easier to pretend that I am lesbian in order to get those vultures off my back, but the truth is, I like boys as much as the next Cleo-reading femme. Even my parents remain skeptical. While other parents frantically try and shield their daughters away from boys, my parents are the antithesis, encouraging me to socialize more; albeit protests that my social life is alive and flourishing, thank you very much.

Now, even my friends have jumped on the bandwagon, attempting to play Good Samaritan by inundating me with offers of blind dates and the like. At the risk of sounding ungrateful, I know they mean well but I only have one word to say: NO. And a big fat one at that. I'm sure blind dates can be fun, but for someone who does not enjoy being thrown headfirst into the deep end of a pool, I must say that trying to engage in cordial conversation with a complete stranger is not for me. It's weird , ok, maybe not so weird upon further reflection, that friend who think that it is time for me to have a significant other usually have significant others of their own, and cannot wait to share their new found bliss with others i.e. single, unsuspecting friends like myself.

Come to think of it, the entire thing is incredibly ironic. I mean, women have come so far this past hundred years: we have witnessed the emancipation of women, women given equal rights as men, women who have broken the proverbial glass ceiling to become CEOs of multinational companies (think Carly Fiorina of Hewlett-Packard) and even Prime Ministers and Presidents (Margaret Thatcher and Gloria Arroyo). But still, still we shun women who are unattached. And woe betides any female who remains unwed by the time she has reached middle age, because then she gets saddled with the unfortunate title of "spinster", which is (of course) meant to be whispered in hushed tones. Though I much prefer the sassier sounding title of "Bachelorette" (hands up those of you who think that the word "spinster" was made to sound uncannily like "sinister").

Just to get things straight. I am not a man hater. Men have contributed significantly to our lives, without them, there would be no one to see us home after a late night out, service our cars, repair our electrical items, unclog that stuck pipe, kill creepy crawlies that always seem to startle you when you least expect it. Yup, I know that women can do that as well, but it is just that men do seem to relish doing those things a lot more than what we could possibly muster.

Right now, my life as a swinging single is just about as good as it gets. I'm not moaning about "smug marrieds" a la Bridget Jones. However, I must admit to feeling a twinge of envy when I see happy couples doing coupley things together. But when I compare that to the freedom of doing what I want, wherever and whenever I want without having to account to anyone apart from myself; I'd choose the latter. Maybe I'm simply not ready for someone, or maybe I haven't found the right person yet. Ok, so I'll wait. There's no hurry. My biological clock has yet to start counting down like a time bomb awaiting detonation. The right man will come along and I will happen to be there; even if it means meeting him at some isolated village in the far reaches of Timbuktu.

A Big Big Thank You To..

Here are a few choices

1. Taiwan (i've been invited to go)- free accomodation, friend's dad has an apartment

i hate my router

Grrr.
Fuck lah.
I just remembered i have 2 assignments to do. Both due on the same bloody day. I haven't even started!

1. Physiology assignment on acclimatization (15%)
2. Ecology Field trip report (15%)

I have 1 week to do. This is my biggest nightmare. Veryvery high weightage
#2 more or less gao dim, becuz i got last sem's report done by a Dean's Lister.
#1, i will have a fucking hard timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.1000 word report. I is going to die.

Anyway, my internet connection has been a mother fucking bitch lately. Okay, its unjust to curse the connection, since its not even mine. Belongs to my neighbour. It's irritating how some neighbours can't share their connection! Heh. Why must use WEP Key leh?? Ppl tapping on connection temporarily only what, becuz router is not working too well. Share and care like the Sharity elephant.

Fuck the router also lah. Break down dunno how many times, and i gotta keep calling the shitty filipino linksys ppl and have them guide me over the phone. I remembered the first time i called right, this fucking bitchy filippino was attending to me, teaching me how to wire all the cable wires to the modem and CPU etc. And i didn't exactly get it, cuz there were too many fucking wires behind. So i kept asking her qn..and she got irritated. She screamed at me " IS YOUR LAN CABLE CONNECTED TO THE CPU" blah blah. Knn, she dare to yell at me! i paid for your linksys router one okay. Of course, i yelled back" You didnt even explain properly, you stupid bitch, and you dare yell at me" And she kept quiet, and i slammed the damn phone down. Figured it myself,. Guess what, that stupid bitch told me to plug the stupid wire into the CPU, instead, it should be to the modem.. i don't understand how some ppl can be that anal.

So anyway, here's what i could do about my router:

1. accept the offer from a someone to come over and fix my router (NO THANKS X 1000)
2. get help from m, my closest neighbour who lives one road away from me
3. buy a lan cable, like what m said. But that defeats the entire Wifi shit in my laptop
4. do someting about the stupid router (if i have the time)

Strangly, i've been back from the cruise for about.. 2 days
And i keep feeling like im still on the ship, like a boat is rocking or something.

ps: alamak, supposed to meet Chicken rice (jeevan) for tennis tmr at 9am, but its impossible to drag me out of bed. Its already 3am!

What china?

So like last night,
Mike and I were chatting, and he said for a good 5 secs, i looked like his friend's gf (who is from CHINA!)
what the hell man.
And i asked, "so..you're saying i look like i'm from china"
He asked "aren't your ancestors chinese?"
I went..yeah, "there you have it" he said.

He could speak with such indifference about me looking like a PRC because..he's a PRC himself!
Hahaha.

But quite a cute PRC. =)

Cruise Trip

In the cabin

portrait. looks real though

At the dinner table. Round 2

Round 1 of dinner. Sharks fin & abalone soup, and some other stuff.
Great stuff.

Round 2. The dessert.

Followed by a game of chess. Which i don't know how to play

Sitting by the lounge, listening to jazz.

Morning International Buffet, becuz we woke up late for the dimsum breakfast

parents karaoking. You will never catch me karaoking, becuz im too shy to
sing in public, even in front of my parents. Not that my singing is bad, im just shy?
Haha

Breakfast after my morning run at the gym

Mothership playing pingpong

Aiyah, actually there are alot more than all these pics. Like how we had fine dining for lunch on the second day, the hot tube, the supper, the casino blah blah. can't be bothered to take pics also lah. Because, its not like its my first time there anyway.

Been on a cruise for dunno how many times. I rem in primary sch, even i didn't wanna go, i was bloody forced to go, becuz my parents had to go to the casino, and they'll just dump us 50 bucks to play arcade. haha. now that i can get into the casino...well, not much diff, i also hardly play. i only record scores for my parents. Baccarat scores, then analyse. Once in a while, they'll give me 100 bucks to bet. Sometimes i win, sometimes i lose.

Whoever wants to go on a cruise for dirt cheap prices, get into the good books of my mom, for she's some vip member, and she gets the best deals. HEHEH.
If i were to go on a cruise every week, i'll be obese in no time. They make sure you're frigging well fed. Breakfast, Tea time, Lunch, Dinner, Supper. OMG!
Bloody good fooood lor

And no hobs, i did not sink the cruise u idiot. Your fat nose sank the titanic.

So Bud is right about me..

Men See You As Choosy

Men notice you light years before you notice them
You take a selective approach to dating, and you can afford to be picky
You aren't looking for a quick flirt - but a memorable encounter
It may take men a while to ask you out, but it's worth the wait
