worrywart
I am a worry wart.
Over the past few days, i've been deliberating on so many things in my life. My career, my social life and obviously, the prospect of finding a significant other.
Maybe i'm just bored. Or maybe i really feel i am getting older. I think that what they call it, the Quarter Life Crisis (QLS). Even though there is definitely no scientific evidence to this symptom, i'm pretty sure we'll go all through it. It's only a matter of time!
Few days back, i felt like i was standing in the crossroad of my career path. Two factors i always consider. 1. Pay 2. Experience. To get a better learning experience, i would have to forgo a bigger pay cheque. Sometimes i don't know which is more important. Here in Sg, you need pay fat ass pay cheques to live comfortably. But what good is a job if you don't get tremendous satisfaction from learning new things on the job.
I never thought i would think about all these crap. How nice it was, being a secondary school or even a university student. All we had on our minds were school vacations and obviously the dreaded pre-exams stress, which of course lasts only for about 3 weeks. It's only the tip of the ice berg in comparison with this QLS.
Maybe it's just me, worrying too much. But i always like my life to be nicely laid out, so that i know i'm heading towards a certain direction. Life's definitely way too short of any mistakes or regrets. Am i a perfectionist or what?
On a lighter note, do visit my favourite website at www.livescience.com They've got pretty informative science related information and discoveries. Updated on a daily basis.
Instead of visiting Bloomberg (see, i don't even bother to hyper link this for you guys!), i'm visiting websites like these, digesting facts which are absolutely redundant in my career.
I hope next month would be better.
Also, i feel like my social circle is shrinking by the day. Even Evan and the Cat has friends at gym. Maybe i'm just oblivious to ppl around me because i always enjoyed the comfort of doing things alone, and being in my own world.
p.s: i downloaded the latest version of Firefox, and i didn't like it.
pps: it's been 4 weeks since my dog died.
Decisons
Taipei or USA.
I was chatting with Ceci over MSN and found out that she's taking block leave to go USA on her own. I invited myself along, and she said okay. We're visiting the eastern part. So hello Nicky if i see you there in boston.
5 minutes later, my mom walked in and asked if i wanted to go Taipei with the family before my brother's enlistment.
Oh man. I don't know. It sucks to know that airtickets to USA is now 2.3k. Nuts. And it's even sadder to know that i dumped quite abit of money into investment, which apparently isn't growing at this point of time. This effectively means that i could go USA, but i'll burn a bigger hole in my bank account.
Drats!
p/s: Today i caught Definitely, Maybe with Nutters. It's a pretty awesome show. Something i remembered in the show. 'Falling in love is not about who you meet, it's when you want to'. Pretty true i think. Timing is one of the biggest factor!
xoxo
Gone
I apologise for the infinite hiatus.
I was going through some kinda emotional turmoil with the demise of my beloved pet dog. It's been almost 3 weeks, but i don't think i would like to talk about it further. It really is painful, afterall he was with us for 8 years.
Moving on, i'm getting pretty stressed out at work lately. I feel like there's so much i need to do, so much i'm pressured to do, and sometimes the pay doesn't quite justify. It should've been MORE. argh.
There's always a trade off between a high paying job and a job which is boring as hell.
No doubt, i'm facing alot of challenges, and i'm drawing a decent pay cheque, but i feel like i'm fizzling out too quickly. No matter how much i whine or complain to my cat colleague every day, i still feel like i'm pretty much exhausted. It's funny to have two person whining about their jobs every single day. I think it's not us, it's the job.
Today, i needed some comfort food, so i succumbed to LJS. Righto. I got my dad to buy back for me, and i requested for extra crumbs. To my delight (and disgust later on), half the box was filled with crumbs till i couldn't find the chicken, they were hidden underneath. Shiok you say. But i felt very sick eating just a quarter of the crumbs in the box. If only my dog was around, i would defintely share it with him.
I realised when you've lost a loved ones, guilt always eats into you. And thats how i've felt for the past few weeks. A lot of.. 'if onlys', 'i should've', 'i shouldn't have'. All in all, i thought my dog deserved more than what he got.
I celebrated my birthday this year at Hog's Breath Cafe. They've got pretty decent steak. a 300g natural prime steak cost $32. I'm glad i shared that portion! I also got nice presents from my colleagues, and a nice chocolate truffle cake from the family.

I'm hoping to go to the gym as often as i can as well. Is it me, or is it me. But the cat and evan have made many friends at the gym except for me. Cat thinks maybe i'm not smiling often enough. Right. Why should i even smile when work tires me out and pisses me off the entire day.
Pfft.
I feel like throwing up now. i hate LJS.
Edit:i was also stung by a jellyfish at wakeboarding 2 weeks ago at Sembawang. It felt like static shock X 1000. And it started to become red, and urticaria (aka hives, rash) appeared. And i went to CGH for consultation, only to have the crap doc tell me i can just put into warm water to kill the toxins.
And i demanded he gave me some anti inflammatory meds. So he injected Promethazine IM, and not IV, because my muscles still hurt till now. He gave me Predenisolone ( a steroid to reduce inflammation), Chloropheniramine (anti histamine to relief itching) and Amoxycillin (anti biotics to kill the bacteria).
I do happen to have a keen interest on pharmacology and pharmokinetics.
Alas, i didn't complete the antibiotic course. 1 week later, my arm was itching, and very inflammed, you could feel heat emitting out. So i went to a GP, and he gave me a stronger steriod. Betamethasone. I'm feeling better, but my arm still looks ugly
