le femme

I never thought I would say this, and i take back whatever i've said 5 years ago - i actually love the adverts and reviews in Her World magazine. From the LV to Cartier to Bvlgari and Miumiu. I convet them all!

Back then, i used to love Cleo. The bags, makeups and even clothings seem more affordable for a university student. Her World back then seemed alittle too far fetched. I could never fathom why anyone would pay $3000 for a bag, or $700 for a pair of shoes. I've finally unravelled that sacred mystery.

It's not because everyone else around me has it, neither is it because i will look 'cool' with some high end bag. who gives the feck about looking cool anyway, i thought we were over that phase after secondary school. Anyway, here's why. I realised that when you've worked so hard, all you wanna do is splurge and treat yourself to something exclusive. Ever since i've started working, going on a shopping seems like a bi-monthly affair. It's not like in uni days, after school i hang out at some malls and splurge money on utterly useless stuff.

While others pamper themselves with spa and facials, i prefer material goods. And food (how could i forget that!) I know it sounds extremely foolish to pay so much for a bag. I haven't gone to that extent yet! My most expensive bag, which is only a Agnes B cost only $200ish. Miumiu or a Tods is way X10000 above that.
These are the things i covet, and they are not on my 'must have lists'. These are things which motivate me to work harder so that i can buy them. Even though after every month end, i've achieved personal targets, i still don't end up buying them.

I'm living a dillusional life.

Doesn't mean i don't buy means i can't rave about them.

So ladies, do you get it now?
If you don't, maybe you might in 5 years time.

save me, save the world

i don't know how small my pay cheque will shrink to in the next few months.

times like these, divine intervention is the only way out. who am i kidding.

for some reasons, i can't get to sleep. just hung up with the good old cat, had a cup of cereal, which should make me sleepy, but i'm still awake. i'm worried about the market situation. i've lost quite a bit on investments. i still feel i'm luckier than those who bough LB bonds. They don't even get back a cent. Imagine losing a fully paid condo in 2 months. i think i will cry.

sigh

i think i will go buy gold on saturday.

trigger happy

2 things made me pretty happy this evening.

1. I can now watch Boiler Room
2. The launch of Apple's latest iPod Nano

It's time to replace my almost dying iPod Video (which i haven't watched a single video on it)
I hate refurbished gadgets.

Today, my internet connection is kooky. This is my second post of the day. The previous one wasn't saved.

I'm going to register for CFA this month. I almost forgot USD went up. Sigh. Should've done it earlier!

burning fingers

i'm having a terrible neck ache (which, if you clearly remembered subsided ever since i've stopped blogging about it). So it's back! I reckon it was the spinning class i attended yest. Probably something to do with my posture.

Last night, i stuck a medicated plaster on my neck, this morning it was still painful. 10 mins ago, i decided to apply some tiger balm medicated cream for neck/shoulder aches.

I ended up with fingers that felt like they've been numbed by ice, yet at the same time felt like they're burning at 500C. I can't imagine how i'll feel when i go wash my hands later. It's the exact sensation where you gulp a glass of ice water after brushing your teeth.

IT KILLS.

corn and golf

I can't wait to remove my corn plaster from my toe tomorrow!
I wonder what is underneath that plaster, and whether i can successfully yank out the piece of corn on my toe.

Today i had my 1st golf lesson. It was fun and challenging. But definitely not the cheapest hobby in the entire world.

I learnt that i have to keep my left arm straight when i swing. I can't think of any possible way to keep in straight throughout except to wear a cast on my left arm. teehee

TGIF.

I hope my weekend will be fabulous.

I hope i can bring Melody out for a run. Damn weather simply doesn't permit.

I hope i am lucky this month.

Run Forrest Run!

Ladies and Gentleman,
May i present to you my superb timing for the 10km Nike Run on 31st Aug 2008. Amongst 1,000,000 runners in a total of 26 cities, yours truly was ranked 198196th, which puts me on the 80th percentile in the world.

However, i must say this run was a very disappointing run with me stopping twice after the drink stops because i drank too much and ended up with stitches on my left abdomen. Also, my foot had a burning sensation. Nonetheless, it was a satisfying run upon completion of 10km.

Well done to me *pats own back*

I will aim to complete 10km under 75 minutes with the help of ipod sport kit, which i've decided to name, Melody (no prizes for guessing the colour).

I cant' believe i happened to be of those ppl with foot corns. How do you even get corn? Too much pressure on foot? The strangest thing is that my right foot is perfectly alright, not the left. Today, i bought myself a corn plaster. It helps relief pain and removes corn. Salicylic acids in the plaster helps remove it.

Geeky as i may be, i never knew how corn looks like. My dad told me it's long, and how the doctor used to pull it out from his toes, like there was a root. And i thought it's gonna be like some shitty foreign object beneath your skin. Only to be told by my dad that it's actually skin.
So right, a long piece of skin under the skin. Endothelial under epithelial?

I shall go wiki for some 3d images of corn right about...NOW.
