Reminds me of another Golden Retriever named Jessie, who is just as cute.

Funny how (cute) dogs can brighten up my day.

Of life and its fragility

The thing about working in a hospital is that you gain an interesting insight on life.
One of which is the fragility of life.
Each and every single day, i see forms with ppl suffering from cancer cancer and more cancer. And it gets even more heart wrenching when i see their age. Breast cancer at the age of early 30s? A spinal cord biopsy of a teenager, a cyst growth on a primary school kid. I feel for these ppl.

I guess in a way, it kinda taught me how to cherish my life and maybe live a healthier life.
Every day, you see organs and tissues whatever after a surgery had been done (i'm assuming the person whose organs we cut up has passed on) it kinda dawns on you that, hey, i better live my life healthily, for i do not want my organs to look like that. (ie perulent exudates with grey white material oozing out) = carcinoma

Life is different now, ever since i've started work. I realised how i'm starting to become so responsible and disciplined. Paying bills and updating bank book have also became my favourite hobby. Funny how ppl can change over time.
I certainly have, for the better definitely.

i have different ideals, different expectations, different lifestyles, different tastes.

Wow, now that seems pretty dramatic.

Gees

I'm appalled at the amount of clothes he has in his wardrobe. Filled to the brim???? And its not like he has a 'Fashion Mistake' Section (read: he wears everything in the cupboard) - where he doesnt wear clothes he bought, (because he realised its not that nice afterall, unlike most girls, we still have clothes with tags on). I really wonder why we still keep all these clothes. To remind us of our wrong buys?

I am back ( Part 1)

I won't say much. Afterall, a picture says a thousand words. So, we arrived at Phuket early in the morning. And it was pouring so heavily, we couldn't do anything, except to go shopping in Town at this mall called Central Festival. We took a Tuk-Tuk there. The weather in Phuket is so damn erratic i tell you. One moment, its perfect for tanning, the next moment, you would wanna chill out at Starbucks.

We had lunch at the mall. Fucking cheap can! Each of us ordered an appeitzer, a main course, a dessert and a drink. Less than SGD 60 i suppose. Excellent Tom Yam

This was taken in the evening, outside our hotel, along the streets. We ate at the hotel twice, because the food was cheap, and definitely decent tasting. Oh, and i've been eating those corns they sell by the road side since Day 1. Corn on the cob

Then we also went for this Cabaret show. We bought the VIP tickets, cuz it was 100bahts more only. Transport provided too. Stupid trans have nicer figures than me, or any other girls. I wonder what the hell they eat. Grass? And some of them have D.Y's eyes (the famous blogger). Plastic barbie doll looking. And check out the boobs man, like ROCK HARD? (not that i've touched them). The wonders of plastic surgeries.

More pics to come.

Leaving on a jetplane

This has always been my favourite seat on the plane. You'll find me in this seat 80% of the time on a plane ride. Heh
My dad gives it up to me, my friends give it up to me. Basically, ppl who love me give me this seat.
Aww.

I'm off y'all!

Take care

peace out!

Stand Inside Your Love

You and me, meant to be
Immutable, impossible
It's destiny, pure lunacy
Incalculable, insufferable

But for the last time, you're everything that I want and ask for
You're all that I'd dreamed.
Who wouldn't be the one you love?
Who wouldn't stand inside your love?
Protected and the lover of

A pure soul and beautiful, you
Don't understand, don't feel me now
I will breathe, for the both of us.
Travel the world, traverse the skies
Your home is here, within my heart.

And for the first time, I feel as though I am reborn in my mind
Recast as child and mystic sage
Who wouldn't be the one you love?
Who wouldn't stand inside your love?

And for the first time, im telling you how much I need and bleed for
Your every move and waking sound in my time,
I wrap my wire around your heart and your mind
You're mine forever, now.
Who wouldn't be the one you love and live for
Who wouldn't stand inside your love and die for
Who wouldn't be the one you love?

To Sheila

twilight fades
through blistered avalon
the sky's cruel torch
on arching autobahn
into the uncertain divine
we scream into the last divine
you make me real
you make me real
strong as i feel
you make me real

sheila rides on crashing nightingale
intake eyes leave passing vapor trails
with blushing brilliance alive
because it's time to arrive

you make me real
you make me real
strong as i feel
you make me real

lately I just can't seem to believe
discard my friends to change the scenery
it meant the wrold to hold a bruising faith
but now it's just a matter of grace

a summer storm graces all of me
highway warm sing silent poetry
I could bring you the light
and take you home into the night

you make me real
lately I just can't seem to believe
you make me real
discard my friends to change the scenery
strong as i feel
it meant the wrold to hold a bruising faith
you make me real
but now it's just a matter of grace

It's the Hog's 22nd Birthday

With Love

Whooppeeeee

My weekends are so precious to me. It means more sleep, more enjoyment, more shopping, and more eating.

This weekend was fabulous. Met up with Sydney people for dinner, then went over to someone's place to watch soccer. Me watch soccer? no way. i went along, but ended up talking cock to a non-soccer fan there. just got back, and im dead beat.

This weekend, i have the entire house and car to myself. Parents + my bf & gf went Genting. The other brother went KL for a rugby game. Right.

Pretty cool to live alone actually.
Tonnes of freedom (read:you can bring anyone back home), no one's gonna nag at you if your clothes are on the floor, or if you don't cap the toothpaste. I like this whole living alone idea. Should fufil it someday by moving out.

So now that i've started working, i think i've experienced a little change in lifestyle. With me getting a pretty good pay (which i dont think i should disclose here), i have so much spending power now. Something i never really had. It's not that i am more spendthrift than before, but i feel that i don't have to think twice so much as compared to last time, when i was a poor student.

I don't think twice about eating at restaurants. In fact, i want to eat at restaurants! My meals during the weekdays are from the canteen! I can shop as much as i want. I know i sound materialistic. But i'm not. You will understandwhen you start earning for your money.
And, i think its best i date someone who enjoys eating at fancy restaurants, and not the damn food court. Yucks.

Going JB next next next weekend.
I can't wait!!!

What goes around comes around

Very cliche saying i know.

But to me, the only thing that makes this world seems fair and justified has gotta be

KARMA

So, who's enjoying good karma now?

You made my day

Today seems to be a pretty nice and good day for me.
Was talking to Mike (yes the sydney one) for a while on MSN, then the next thing i know, my phone was beeping.
Aww..a call from him all the way from sydney (POALS dont even call me! BAH, except Nutters. Heh), because he couldnt stand doing his accounting homework.
Such a sweet gesture.
Funny how talking over the phone with him was quite a walk in the park, considering the fact that we didn't talk alot in front of our friends way back in sydney. Those ppl kept making fun of us, and it got kindddda awkward.

Oh well, im not even thinking of doing LDR man.

Week 2

The week started off really well.
With me going for 2 days of staff orientation. It is exactly like your JC orientation, only shorter
Ice breakers, talks about the various departments, evaluations, new friends, tour ard the hospital, and CCAs (i kid you not). Enough to make these 2 days really enjoyable. For once, the partially introvert me has now metamorphosised (is there even such a word?) into a full fledge extrovert.

So, im still contemplating which CCA i should join. I should say ECA in this case. Tennis, gardening club, or running club?
Life here is so much more fun than uni. How strange is that.

Like Uni, they have bazarrs too. Free health screening, DnD, family Day, free classes (yoga, tennis, flower arrangement?????), and nice gyms too. HEHHH.

Just got back from a long jog. Damn good. I usually don't jog this late, because i really can't see at night. Night blindness can!

Next week, i have quite abit to accomplish.
I need to meet up with many ppl. I miss them so much.

And of course, i have to drop by the bank this weekend, to find out the tuition fee loan status. Can't believe i'm expected to pay my sch fees loan by myself. 10 knn thousand dollars. Better start planning my money tonight. Just exactly how much is the average monthly allowance do parents get from a working adult? I think i better start footing my own hp bills too. No more freeebies.

Welcome to the working world/thredhold of adulthood, Grace!

On a happier note, I'm back to writing diaries/journals.
I'm starting to collect movie ticket stubs too.
Its like a start of a new life or something. hahah

Finally!
I've caught the over hyped, 'long- awaited' movie - The Da Vinci Code.
I've read the book. Only the book was good.
I was actually waiting for the show to open. It opened 2 weeks back.
Until, T (who also like me, wanna catch the show, but didn't till today) asked me out for a show So what the heck.
He's the only guy i know besides ryan, who collects the movie ticket stubs! heh

It's been pretty long, don't you think?

I know i haven't been blogging as often as i used to, well that's because i actually have a full time job already, even before i graduate.
Not too bad huh, considering how 3-6mths is the average amt of the grads take to look for a job.

Of course, i have my good friend ahkow to thank, without him, i wouldn't even blogging about this!
(can i hear 3 cheers for kow? Hip hip hooray X3)

Well, work's not too bad.Glad i've got a job at the hospital, 10 mins away from my home.
I've learnt so much over the past 4 days.
An overflow of medical terms, the admin work, scribing, deciphering doctor's really really bad handwriting.( It takes one to know one. Only doctors can read each other's hand writing. I swear they scribble worms on papers). Blocking, cutting blah blah. Trimming with the pathologists, packing of organs/lumps/whatever, i quote from a pathologist, "nonsense in, nonsense out". He said that with a straight face. Funny guy.

I'm actually doing histopathology. So its a combination of histology (study of cells) + pathology (cutting of stuff and then diagnosing /get to the root of the problem).

Well, don't worry man, i'm not doing diagnosing here, though they said they might teach me some cytology in the future. What i do is prepare microscope slides from the given specimens and then the doctors will diagnose. Oh, and i handle PAP Smears too. Any takers ladies?

I'm not saying this is the best job ever. It's not the most exciting or exhilarating one. Jobs will always be job. There's always a limit to how 'exciting' it is, then the excitability level plateaus, or maybe goes down till it becomes mundane.

For now, i can strongly say "i'm lovin' in", because workplace is near my house. i can wake up late, i save time on transport. Nice colleagues, nice supervisors, nice doctors, nice managers. Pretty good starting pay. It's about time i find a job near my place because i've been travelling from east to west, west to east for 3years, (read:nus) and not forgetting KC? a freaking 1 hr journey. Grr
And the best thing is, i don't even have to fret about what to wear everyday. I wear what i wear to school. Jeans, t shirt slippers? Some even wore shorts. Doesn't really matter actually, cuz most of the time, we have lab coats on, oh and really cool clog shoes (croc lookalikes, but way cooler), and rubber gloves of course. My hands smell of latex, like perpetually can!

Life is good.
