the emo bug struck weili

I'm sure my good friend weili has been struck by the emo bug.
Judging from his most recent entry, we all know what his biggest regret is. HAH.

"whenever i hear this song,
i think of you.
it was the end of everything we shared."

Very unlikely of you leh. So mushy.

I think we shouldn't have any regrets in life. We gotta learn to move on, and not look back. Life is like a tunnel, you just keep going forward and forward, till you see the light at the end of one. And if you don't see one, then you just keep going on and on..till you die.

I've learnt not to look back on things and regret. What's the use of regretting? Instead of fretting and whining, why not channel your energy on how to make your life better?

I'm sorry to hear about your regrets. You should've known better; from the moment you started throwing away all the sandwiches she made for you for recess *snigger*, that she was indeed a very very good catch.

For myself, i've never regretted being dumped by the ex. It could've been worst if i were to cling on to that pathetic relationship, where my self esteem was marred, my dignity and pride diminishing. Phew. I'm better off alone.

Alas, while you could cherish and think about the good times you've had with the ex, it is still better to move on than to live in the past, because there's a time machine simply doesn't exist in this world.

Time only moves foward.

So dude, look on the bright side, for there's always somewhere out there far far away. And on the contrary, more often than not, the one whom you married is the one you don't love the most, so why bother?

Food for thought:
It is better to be left on the shelf for the view out there is better

(ripped it off somewhere)

Independence at 23

Sometimes, i think it is a good thing when parents leave their own children to struggle on their own. That way, they learn things the hard way. They learn how to keep their heads above the water.

For me, it didn't come easy either. I wish i had the kind parents of who would give me allowance even when i was in university, or even let me bum ard and sleep all day throughtout my entire summer break

I envied ppl who could stay at home for 3 fucking months playing PS2 during their summer break, or even go clubbing every damn night.

I envied those stupid NS guys who get allowance from their parents despite saying that their pay is like "sai". $400 is not sai okay! Or those ppl who get to go overseas, spend, eat, enjoy, have fun, tour from state to state, fly back to singapore 2-3times a year, without having to worry a single thing about money.

Most of all, i wish my parents were richer enough to see me through university. (And i'm not even talking about going abroad, which i think i deserve to; only that they didn't have the money)

But all of that didn't happen.

I could sense reluctance each time i asked for pocket money. And ideally, as a child, you don't actually have to ask for money. Your parents would give you on a monthly basis, just to make sure you have enough to eat blah blah. Not for me.

I had to work for my own money, while studying at the same time. I couldn't afford a laptop, i couldn't afford to stay in hall, and i definitely couldn't afford to spend as much as what i am spending now. I had to give tuition, for $150, just enough to cover my expenses for the entire month. And if i'm disciplined enough, i even managed to save abit.
$150 a month? And you thought i was kidding. I kid you not. I'm glad i've managed to instill some sorta financial discipline in myself; that being the envy of many.

That being said, what i'm pretty mad is how my brothers are taking so much money from my parents. In secondary school, all i had was $4 (inclusive of recess and lunch), and my youngest brother is currently taking $6. To be honest, in secondary school, a bowl of noodles won't even cost you more than $2. I didn't see why he had to take so much. And the other brother was taking $10 a day. Seriously, WTF.

Now that i've started working, and given some thoughts about my career, I've decided i don't want to be a wage slave no more. I want to earn the money that commiserates with my hardwork. I want to be proud of myself. I don't want to earn a sum of money just enough to get by with life. I want it to be a luxurious life.

I can foresee myself slogging like mad, and at the end of the day, i can feel that i've achieved something, and am proud of myself.
At this point of time, my career comes first. Everything else is secondary.
You defintely would think likewise if you were in my shoes.

p/s: I still want my Mazda when i reach 25.

pps: and the bottomline is, i blooody need that bank job!

ppss (totally irrelevant): but sometimes i wish i didn't take ppl like bud for granted

Have you looked past the nice guys?

"I'm sorry
that i bought you roses
to tell you that i like you

I'm sorry
that I was raised with respect not to
sleep with you when you were drunk

I'm sorry
that my body's not ripped enough
to "satisfy" your wants

I'm sorry
that I open your car door, and pull
out your chair like I was raised

I'm sorry
that I'm not cute enough
to be "your guy"

I'm sorry
that I am actually nice;
not an asshole

I'm sorry
I don't have a huge bank account
to buy you expensive things

I'm sorry
I like to spend quality nights at home
cuddling with you, instead of at a club

I'm sorry
I would rather make love to you then
just f**k you like some random guy.

I'm sorry
that I am always the one you need to
talk to, but never good enough to date

I'm sorry
that I always held your hair back when
you threw up,and didn't get mad at you
for puking in my car, but when we went
out you went home with another guy

I'm sorry
that I am there to pick you up at 4am
when your new man hit you and dropped
you off in the middle of nowhere, but
not good enough to listen to me
when I need a friend

I'm sorry
if I start not being there, and being
used as a door mat, only to be thrown
to the side when the new asshole comes
around

I'm sorry
if I don't answer my phone anymore when
you call, to listen to you cry for
hours, instead of getting a couple
hours of sleep before work

I'm sorry that you can't realize.. I've
been the one all along.

I'm sorry
if you read this and know somebody like
this but don't care But most of all

I'm sorry
for not being sorry anymore

I'm sorry
that you can't accept me for who I am

I'm sorry
I can ever do anything right, and
nothing that I do is good enough to
make it in your world.

I'm sorry
I caught your bf with another girl and
told you about it, I thought that was
what friends were for...

I'm sorry
that I told you I loved you and
actually meant it.

I'm sorry
that I talked to you for nine hours on
Thanksgiving when your bf was
threatening you, instead of spending
time with my family.

I'm Sorry
that i cared

I'm sorry
that I listen to you at night talk
about how you wish you could have done
something different.

Ladies always bitch and bitch to their
friends that there is never any good
guys out there, and they always end up
with assholes who mistreat them. Well
ladies next time you're bitching, maybe
look up to see who you're bitching to,
maybe that special someone is right
there hanging on your every word as
usual, screaming in his head "Why won't
you give me a chance?"

Because the person you are usually
searching for is right by you.

If you're a guy and you agree with this
letter, repost as "I'm sorry "

If you're one of the few girls who
would never make your guy feel this
way, repost as "to all the girls who
look past the nice guys".

That's one thing i don't quite understand about my species.
Why do we always go for the jackass rather than the nice guy?
There's this chinese saying :
男人不坏,
女人不爱。 (btw,it was mike who taught me how to type mandarin characters)

Could it be because nice guys are easily attainable; so then the challenge factor is not there?
I think it is partly human nature that we always want the things we can't get. And because we can't get, we try even harder to get it. And if we do succeed in getting it, we value it like a prized possesion.

Now, do you all understand why girls are always in love with tearjerkers? These girls are just plain oblivious to the nice guys out there who are willing to treat them like a precious gem. So don't blame them. They just looked past the nice guys.

People make mistakes.

What 2006 meant to me

  • Graduated with merit, and got a job even before i graduated
  • My CAP for my last sem was the highest throughout my entire varsity life.
  • Became Miss Independent
  • Got a job, which sorta narrowed down my social life a little
  • Bills, loans, savings. Financial issues to deal with
  • Considered setting up a business (still planning and considering)
  • Became a more responsible person
  • Drove ard more, can park the car in 1 attempt
  • Burning bridges with ppl whom i couldn't care less
  • Went out with several guys, but didn't feel any connection
  • Met many nice guys. =)
  • Caught the least number of movies at the theatre
  • Became a full fledged Grey's Anatomy/OC junkie
  • Long D phone calls from Sydney
  • Became closer to my Sydney friends
  • Spent 10X more than i usually do on weekends
  • Ate at fancy places very often
  • Started my day with a cup of coffee without fail
  • Realised the fragility of life
  • Learnt to cherish life and health even more

This was all that happened in 2006. It definitely wasn't a blast, however, it was a smooth and stable year. I was pretty happy all year round as you can tell, as compared to 2005
I guess bad relationships do screw up your life/year.

I'm looking forward to 2007. I honestly am. That's because, i will be entering the REAL REAL working world. Hello Shentonway ppl. SOOON!!
And by 2009, you will see me driving my very own car. (hopefully a Mazda)
It's just a matter of time.
Really.
