Rally @ Hougang
Before i start off with anything, i would like to give credits to the photographer who took this at the rally. I took these pictures from the forum

The crowd was incredible i tell you.
There were at least 20, 000 at Hougang. All the heartlanders gathered at this big patch of field promptly at 7pm. Even the drizzle didn't deter anyone from attending the WP's rally.
It was a mistake to drive there, for parking was a huge huge problem. We had to park illegally.
Many brought chairs, so did my dad. We got ourselves ground sheets too, while others had to make do with newspapers, or their slippers. But as the Hero (LTK) started to speak, everyone stood up. He received the loudest applause. Every sentence that ended with a cresendo was followed by cheers and thunderous applause.
The rally was conveyed in different languages and dialects. Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, Teochew, Hokkien.
You could feel the unity amongst the audience. Everyone cheered and clapped. For once, i kinda feltl like we're in the midst of a protest or something.
Issues brought up during the rally
- sky high medical cost. Why should GST be included in medical cost?
- a man in an accident would rather die than to be sent to the hospital, for he does not want to incur any medical debts. First class govt? You decide.
- making medical cost cheaper by setting up local pharmaceutical companies. For one, we can increase employment, for another, we could lower the cost of medicines
- Integrated Resort
- upgrading of lifts, and why residents have to even chip in for it
- the free breakfast that PAP was giving out. Ooh, i like their sarcasm here. "two eggs, one coffee, two bread"
- the 2 child policy back in the 80s, and how they're begging us to procreate. Short sighted on their part?
- The shrinking population, and that is why foreign talent has to be pulled in. Oh i'm so sure.
It was an experience.
The strange thing is, if there are tonnes of supporters, why is it that WP only managed to win by a narrow margin in the 2001 GE. Are these people faking? I really wonder.
We'll see how by next week. If they don't win, then..it probably has to be the free breakfast and sharks fins.
gah, we're such pathetic citizens.
