Looking back..

Isn't it funny that life seems to be moving so so fast, that you don't even realise it?

In the past, when we were teenagers, we were so into boybands, crappy bubble gum pop music. We had crap sense of dressing, we thought that having more than 1 ear hole is extremely cool. We never had to worry about what we wanna do in the future. We never had problems with guys in our lives, because they were non-existant. We took public transport, we ate at cheap places, nothing too fancy, we watched movie every single weekends. The only burden in our lives was to pass our final year exams. We lived life without much of an aim. We were practically enjoying every single bits of our adolescence.

Today, we worry about financial issues, our future, our relationship. We talk about job prospects, post grad courses, business plans, GMAT. We drive each other around, we talk about investments, stocks, the type of guys we want. We talk about sex, we bitch over coffee. We dress up and put make up. We wear heels and elegant earrings. We meet up for coffee instead of watching movies. We go for high-tea, we accompany whoever that needs company for their brazillian wax. We club occassionally, we meet new ppl. We go on dates, we talk about boyfriends. Quite a bit of burden in this phase. Is that why they call it mid-life crisis? eh no. sorry, not yet mid life. Mid life is about 40 plus right? pre-mid life crisis

In the future, we'll be talking about our colleagues who backstab us, we'll be bitching about our bosses, we'll be celebrating promotions instead of birthdays. We'll be meeting up for spa and manicure and taitai high tea. We'll be talking about our kids and how our stinky husband wouldn't help out in the household chore. We'll still be talking about relationships. We'll be talking about our new house, the latest insurance policy we bought, the kindergarten of our kids, the type of classes we wanna send our kids to, our maid who can't cook to save her life, our CPF shit, our housing loans. Thats really a hell lot of burden. This is Mid-life Crisis

My gawd, why does time seem to past so quickly??
18 years ago, i was this little girl, who enjoyed going to child care centre so much.
Who enjoyed her toys, but disliked sharing them with her younger brother
The typical only child syndrome- who gets whatever she wanted. Her parents gave her the best.
I had almost everything i wanted.
I never had to worry about anything at all, except my table ettiquette and organ classes.
18 years ago, my dad was my super best friend. We hung out all the time.
He would bring me to the Macdonalds at Serene Centre. Watch me play at the playground while he gets his weekly dose of milkshake.
He would always be the one assembling all the toys he bought for me. The train set, the lego set, the doll house, that motor car which i got and some other stuff.
We shared the bunk bed when my mom was in the hospital after she gave birth to my brother
He chose a girly wall paper for my room. Printed with flowers and dolls. Oh so pretty!
He always allowed me to buy whatever sweet i wanted, each time i fell sick. (oh that explains those fatty thighs you see in the pic! haha)
And he would always be the one responding to me, whenever i asked him whether my colouring was nice in those cute colouring books. I have tonnes of them!

This my friend, is my childhood.
After my brother came into the picture, somethings changed. And it pretty much sucked!

Yeah I agree. We can't be kids for life though. Where's the fun in that!
