Shop Girl

I watched Shopgirl last night.
I kinda wanted to do a review on it yesterday, but i was too lazy.
I'm abit lazy today too.

But here's a summary of the shop

Mirabelle (claire daines) is a shop assistant at Saks Fifth Avenue. One day, she met Jeremy (played by i dunno who) at the laundramat. He picked her up, and then for all you know, they were sleeping with each other. Jeremy is this yucky jobless bum, no class, no nothing, didn't even bring a rubber when he had sex with her. he brought a packet of mint out, thinking it was a condom.

Then one day, Mirabelle got picked up by a customer, Ray, a 50 odd year old man(Steve Martins) at the store. He bought her nice expensive stuff. He gave her material wants. Flew her in his private jet to NY, brought her to nice places for dinner. Mirabelle stopped seeing Jeremy after she met Ray. Of course, she slept with Ray as well

Jeremy went on a band tour for couple of months, bought tonnes of dating books to enrich his life. Mirabelle on the other hand was having the time of her life, even though Ray thought her "there willl not be any future between us". Strange. Ray's always out of town for biz and stuff, i guess what Ray needed was companionship.

One day, Ray slept with this girl, and admitted to Mirabelle about it. She was upset of course.But they made up to each other. And one day, Mirabelle asked, "have you ever really loved me", Ray said with such indifference, "i thought you already understood that we can never be together" Mirabelle finally walked out on him

Jem, on the other hand, came back from his tour. He changed for the better. Nice clothings, nice hair cut, even better personality. yada yada

Mirabelle ended up with Jem, and one day, she bumped into Ray at the art gallery. Ray was with another lady. Mirabelle asked about his life blah blah. And then Ray told her.."actually, i did love you"

And, thats how i got that quote, how Ray only wanted part of Mirabelle, and not all of her. You know, like wanting to see her only when if he feels like it and stuff

Hmm...so maybe... rich men can't provide genuine love to a women. While a poor pauper could give all the love in the world, to make up for the wealth that they lack (PUI, wat rubbish). Jeremy here in this case, isn't a living testiment to represent all the guys out there in the real world.. So you see, in reality, even poor paupers can't give true love, i'd rather go for the rich men then. At least i get like nice Frank Muller watches or something, because either way, whoever you love, your love might not be reciprocated?

I've got something really to be proud of today.
I drove to suntec alone.
