I'm starting to feel my raging hormones setting in

Standard of living, GST has increased, and conveneniently with the ministers' pay too.
When will my pay ever increase?

This is getting more and more ridiculous.

"Wages of ministers, civil servants to go up as Govt seeks to keep its talent"

Someone please fucking pass me a puke bag.

What talent? They are merely creme de la creme with straight As, several scholarships. But that does not equate to talent. It just means you have a flawless academic track record. What do they know about seeing a pool of urine in the lift when you're coming back from work. Or how about the times when no one cleared that bag of durian shells at the void deck for days!
Because each time they come pay those visits (which really is rare), they get the banglas to clean up the place till it is spick and span. I'm not the only one who thinks that way too. If you have watched Just Follow Law, you would know what i'm talking about.

Govt talk so much about giving public assistance to the needy, yes..by what, increasing their handouts by a meagre sum of $30? Pittance. That amounts to an additional of $1 a day. Oh, so what, they can buy one cup of 60cents 'kopi-o' and one cheapo curry puff? Or maybe one extra can of Coke a day. Even when i know some of the really genuine MPs tried to fight for an additional $400 a day, their suggestion was turned down.
Not say they are kiam siap with handouts, but, pls lor, if you are uneducated, you know nuts about anything, you obviously don't know where to get help right?
This is quite sad. Sometimes i wish i could do something for those elderly who collect aluminium cans. The best i could do is buy them a meal, order more drinks so they can collect more cans.
They should just slip a $600 hongbao under the door of those needy families each month.

Oh, and here's one more reason

"Ministers are not in guaranteed long-term jobs — they face the General Elections every five years."

Does that mean they should get an pay rise? Don't forget, they have pension okay! It's damn wayang lah. They know they will ultimately be the predominant political party in sg, and now they're just seizing any forms of opportunities to up their pay. How can eg Workers Party be the predominant party in sg, walk-overs are included whenever they draw those boundaries. Play cheat lor.

Sigh. It's like going for a buffet, knowing that you may not be able have food after the 5th year, then you stuff yourself silly with food.

Let see what else has increased ever since the they the election

a) Transport
b) Cab fare (nabei! $2 surcharge!)
c) Utilities
d) Their pay
e) GST
f) suicide jumps at MRT station

And i'm expecting more jumps when the casino opens

Here's another joke

"Looking ahead, Mr Lee challenged the Public Service to benchmark itself to top global companies, such as Google.

"Google receives 1,300 resumes a day. The Public Service must strive to have that same cachet. The whole tone of the organisation must exude confidence, energy and purpose," he said."

Google Vs Public Service?

ERMMMM....

That's quite a bad example.
The reason i heard that why many wann join public service is mainly because of the pay.
As for google, i know ppl there love their jobs. google has got kickass welfare. The ppl who work there are workaholics. They're even allowed to bring their dogs to the office, and they even have beds!

Here's something else

"Australian National University academics are outraged at a decision by university management to bestow an honorary Doctorate of Laws on former prime minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew in Canberra next Wednesday.

But the decision to honour Mr Lee has incensed university staff, students and human rights advocates who accuse him of running an authoritarian regime in Singapore over the past four decades in which he has quashed any political opposition."

I should stop reading Todayonline.
